Toni has lived in Nunhead since 2005 and has two sons, the eldest started at Hollydale in 2011, the younger started at Hollydale in 2016. She is taking a break from her career as a Knowledge Manager to devote more time to family life and her allotment. In her spare time she escapes to her allotment growing raspberries, onions, potatoes and hundreds of courgettes.

“I want our children to enjoy school and I want Hollydale to help them all fulfill their potential. I also think it’s important for parents to be involved in the school and support it in any way they can.”

Caroline has lived in Peckham since 2012. She currently works part time for an NHS Trust as Head of Financial Accounts and is keen to use her skills to help the local community. She is also a steering group member on the development of the Peckham Town Centre car-park (Peckham Levels).

“I really want children to go to a school that they feel comfortable in and look forward to attending. It is in this environment children will thrive and reach their potential. It is really important for the local community and parents to support our schools achieve this. Schools face tough financial decisions in the current climate and I want to be able to use my background in Finance to help make those decisions as educated as possible.”

As a Behaviour Specialist in Southwark since 2000, I have worked in most primary and secondary schools within the borough with some of the most vulnerable children and young people. Hollydale school was one of the first schools that I was allocated, and I have been here since then!

I am passionate about the well-being of children and young people, wanting them to achieve and reach their personal best. I have always believed that children are the most resilient of us all and deserve to be championed by caring adults. They have a right to be given the best education, in a warm, safe, happy, inspirational and captivating learning environment that is serviced by the best educators. At this moment in time, Hollydale School is on its way to becoming just that type of learning environment, and I am honored to be a governor and be part of the journey to get there.

Fred has lived in Southwark since 2000 and in Nunhead since 2010. He works in a management role for a federation of academies and was a governor at another school for twelve years before being elected as a governor at Hollydale in 2013.

Emily has lived in Peckham, just a few minutes from Hollydale, since 2013, having previously lived in Brixton for five years. She works for Marks & Spencer in the Corporate PR team, and has worked in strategic communications and media handling for a number of years.

Hollydale has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and I am really excited to be involved in supporting its development and strategic direction.”

Jessica has lived in Nunhead since 2012. She has worked in education for the past 8 years in teaching, recruitment and most recently evaluation and research at Teach First. She now works for the Behavioural Insights Team who conduct large scale research projects for government departments. She’s undertaking a PhD part-time at the University of Manchester, exploring the effect of social media on young peoples’ educational experience.

She firmly believes all young people should achieve their potential, irrespective of their background and is passionate about ensuring that the young people of Hollydale Primary have the best experience of school and the best start in life.

Matt is the Business Development Manager at Kings College London Students Union who support over 27,000 student studying for their degrees at Kings’.

Matt has recently moved to Crystal Palace after spending 18 years living in Nunhead and Ladywell. In his spare time he likes to collect Vinyl and dream about his yearly snowboarding holiday.

“I want all the pupils at Hollydale to enjoy themselves and to discover all the opportunities available to them. After living in the area for so long I have a vested interest in the local community, I want to help Hollydale school become the best it can be.”

Jess has lived in the Peckham area for 15 years. Her son started at Hollydale in 2015, and her daughter will be starting in 2017. Jess works as an interior designer in the retail sector.
